Palladium is planning to build a new complex in the hotel area of Cancun with a view to replicating the enormous success of the Ushuaïa Beach Hotel Ibiza. The company is investing almost €160 million in the complex, which is scheduled to open for the winter of 2017-2018.
The hotel group will also build a second complex in the same area, with an investment of €550 million, which will include four new Grand Palladium resorts and two The Royal Suites by Palladium. With a total of 3,150 rooms and suites, the new complex will be the largest property in the Palladium Hotel Group portfolio, and the group’s third in Mexico. It has already been operating on the Riviera Nayarit since 1999 and on the Riviera Maya since 2002. Initial construction is scheduled to start in spring 2016.
The group’s turnover has broken the €500 million barrier for the first time in its history. Palladium Hotel Group is more profitable than the industry average, since it owns almost all the hotels it operates. The chain has more than 14,000 rooms and, in the high season, more than 10,000 employees.
